Want to engage with the Loft and earn class time while doing it? Become a Work/Study student! For each hour you work at the Loft, you will earn an hour of class time. Work a total of 24 hours for a twelve-week class, 12 hours for a six-week class… you get the idea. Once you have completed your hours, you can enroll in a Loft class for free!

Position Purpose and Duties: This work/study position is primarily responsible for supporting the Loft staff by greeting constituents at the front desk and directing questions/inquiries to the correct department or Loft staff member. Secondary responsibilities may include various filing projects, data entry, mailings and other light administrative duties as agreed upon by work/study participant and supervisor.

Hours: This is a temporary work/study position reporting to the Program Associate. The position is scheduled for at least one regular 4 hour shift (1 p.m.–5 p.m.), each week (Tuesday–Friday). There is opportunity for more than one weekly shift if schedules and interest allow, but a commitment to one shift per week is required. While this is a volunteer position, these are regular office hours and shifts that do require regular attendance for at least 4 consecutive months.  The Loft’s offices are closed on Mondays.

Compensation: Work/study student will receive one hour of class time for each one hour of work, to be used at the Loft on completion of hours. This position is not eligible for benefits.
